mapa-ajuda — turn problems into help pathways
A map-based help center that organizes each problem into steps and links.
mapa-ajuda is an open help center template for websites, courses, communities, and products. Instead of showing a list of frequently asked questions, it lets people choose the problem they are facing. It then shows a path with steps, yes-or-no questions, and the relevant link at each point.
The template is for people who receive repeated questions or have guidance spread across several places. For users, help is arranged in a sequence: they can follow instructions, answer a question, and reach the next step or another path. The page can be adapted to different needs by editing the text, links, and illustrations on each card.
To get started, copy the template and edit the config.js file with the problems and paths for your help center. You can test the page on your computer and then publish it on static hosting. When creating each path, write the cards in the words people use when asking for help, include one link per step, and make sure there is always a next option.
The link opens the original content; some require a subscription.
