reelcomenta — turn a reel into a video with your avatar’s commentary
The project creates a 9:16 video with the original reel, your avatar, sourced figures, and a mention of free courses from inema.club, in PT/EN/ES.
reelcomenta is a tool that turns a link to someone else’s reel, TikTok, or Short into a vertical video of you commenting on the subject. The original video keeps playing while your HeyGen avatar appears in a corner of the screen. Research figures appear in panels with their sources, and the video ends with a question and a call to the free courses at inema.club.
For people who create content, this format makes it possible to comment on a video that is already circulating without recording their own speech. Viewers see the reel and the commentary together, with the original music kept low. Research information appears when it is mentioned, alongside its source, and the ending points viewers to courses at inema.club.
To get started, you need Python, ffmpeg, a HeyGen account with your avatar, and the cardshorts and explicavideos projects. Start with the video link, then research three to four figures with sources and prepare the script. Check the preview before generating the avatar. The tool proceeds to that step only when an approval file is present.
The link opens the original content; some require a subscription.
