rea-engenharia-reversa: understand a program without its source code

Explains programs without access to their source code using Ghidra, real cases and test-based evaluations.

Reverse engineering means figuring out how a program works by examining the app or executable file, even without access to its source code. REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) connects AI agents to tools such as Ghidra, which help analyze the program. Its answers include evidence, a map of what was recovered, the limits of the analysis, and unanswered questions.

This can help you understand an app’s features, audit what it sends outside your device, or recover the logic of your own program if its source code is lost. In a test described in the source, REA analyzed a Node application without running it and worked well on a project of normal size. Very large JavaScript files, however, caused the analysis to stall. Protected programs or those that rely on server-side logic can also limit the results.

To get started, you need Node.js and an AI agent in the terminal. Electron app analysis can be done without Ghidra; native programs require a decompiler such as Ghidra. Check the versions and requirements before setting things up. For large projects, set a time limit and avoid including the node_modules folder. Analyze only programs you are authorized to examine, and pay attention to the evidence and limitations provided.
