Use Both is a kit by Prompt Advisers, created by Mark Kashef and released under the MIT license, introduced alongside the “Use Both” video. The kit teaches six workflows for combining Claude and Codex, with prompts, templates, and two skills, handoff and prime, to switch between assistants without re-explaining the project.
For people who use both assistants, the idea is to divide the work: one prepares a plan or code, and the other reviews the same material in read-only mode. This can help find flaws, missing tests, and unnecessary scope. The kit also offers guidance on splitting tasks, reviewing changes in a branch, and resuming work across sessions. Acceptance tests help decide; agreement between assistants alone does not prove that something is correct.
To get started, the source suggests trying workflows 1 and 6, which work with any subscription and require no installation. Ask one assistant for a plan, save it, then send the brief and plan to the other for review. Give both the same brief and the original artifact. If you install the skills, check the preview before applying it. Handoff records the project state; prime checks the files and waits for your instruction. Old notes are not new authorization.
