rtexjp: turn a script into an illustrated reel with free local voice

rtexjp turns a text script into an illustrated vertical 9:16 reel with a cartoon avatar and locally generated voice, at no cost.

rtexjp is a tool that turns a script written in a text file into an illustrated vertical video in reel format. It generates speech from the text, builds scenes with an illustrated avatar and a robot mascot, and adds music and captions. The project runs locally and is free; users can use Nei’s voice and avatar or their own.

For people who make short videos, rtexjp combines narration and scene assembly in one process, without requiring them to record themselves on camera or hire an avatar service. The result follows a set format, with evidence on screen, a caveat, and an opinion question. A validator checks the script rules, and a quality check reviews aspects of the video.

To get started, you need a computer with a graphics card and the programs and local servers listed in the guide. The project comes configured with Nei’s voice and avatar, but those files are not included in the repository. To use your own, prepare a short voice recording and, if you want to change the avatar, a photo and a description of the character; then set the file paths and follow the guide. The source says the project was tested on Linux.
