MakeShorts — IA short video factory in Claude Code: script, voice, avatar and editing

Tool that produces 9:16 short videos using Claude Code, handling script, voice, avatar, QA and scheduling.

MakeShorts is a Claude Code skill, with supporting scripts, that turns a topic, a link, or a recorded clip into a vertical short video. It organizes steps such as scripting, voice or avatar, supporting footage, editing, quality checks, and scheduling for social networks. It uses HyperFrames for editing; inemavox for voice and transcription; HeyGen for avatars; and Metricool for scheduling.

For users, the idea is to bring short video production together in a conversation with Claude Code. The script follows a structure with a hook, a secondary hook, three steps, and a call to action, and offers three versions to choose from. The video can use a human recording, synthetic voice, or avatar. Before it is ready to schedule, it is checked for duration, vertical format, audio, opening visual, hashtags, and call to action.

To get started, you need Claude Code, FFmpeg, Python, and Node, then clone the repository and run the installer. Settings in the .env file determine which tools are used at each step: some can run locally, while others can use APIs on a VPS. Steps that cost money or publish content ask for confirmation. You can also run the quality check manually; if the video fails, it says what to fix. Scheduling through Metricool happens only after the user confirms.
