AI video editing in Codex and Claude Code: the student kit
Cuts, captions and video rendering from HTML, with no traditional editor.
The skills kit turns a recording into an edited video using Codex or Claude Code. It transcribes speech, suggests cuts to silences and mistakes, and builds scenes with animated graphic elements in HTML. The guide is in Portuguese, and the kit includes fifteen skills mirrored for the two assistants, scene templates, and validators.
For people editing lessons, reels, Shorts, or brand videos, the workflow brings together steps the assistant can handle: cleaning up the recording, planning what appears with each spoken line, and rendering the video. Graphic elements are tied to specific phrases, and each suggested cut is reviewed. The agent also renders, examines frames, and revises the result in cycles while the user guides the style and gives feedback.
To get started, you need Node.js 22 or later, Git, FFmpeg with ffprobe, and Chrome or Chromium, as well as Codex or Claude Code. The starter and tests work without an API key; for transcription, you can use local Whisper or ElevenLabs Scribe. Describe clearly what should appear in each section, and review the cuts, storyboard, and render before considering the edit ready.
