Agent Claude → Codex – Migrate to Codex or stay agnostic
Enables migration from Claude Code to Codex, with auditing, adapters and a portable core.
agente-claude-codex is a kit for moving a Claude Code setup to Codex or keeping work independent of any one tool. It brings together an audit, adapters, and a portable core with context, decisions, tasks, and skills in regular Markdown files in the project.
For users, the kit helps identify what can be reused, what needs adapting, and what remains unresolved. Its scripts start in audit mode, without copying everything at once. The core can be used with Claude, Codex, Gemini, or a local model, and a handoff record helps a new session resume the work. Claude and Codex can also take different roles, such as building and reviewing a change.
To get started, check the requirements with the diagnostic and create a read-only audit. Then organize the instructions, install the core without overwriting existing files, and port a skill; installation is only a preview until you choose to apply it. Finally, test a new session in each tool and check that it read and used the right files. A file’s mere existence does not prove continuity.
